What’s so Wondrous about Wao? March 13, 2008

Hello everyone!
Well we are on to Week 2 of Wao. I have to admit I don’t really know where the stories are going at this point. But I’m a little behind on the reading. So far in my opinion no one’s life has been very wondrous, so I’ll just have to wait for the “punch line” of the book!

It has been suggested to meet at Village Inn. I figured the one right off of 6th Avenue would be easy to find.
11903 W. 6th Avenue

Read to page 233 Chiste Apocalyptus.

See you all there! I may be behind on the wondrous-ness of it all, but I do love me some pancakes and meeting with BBC friends 🙂

  2. Kelly Says:

I have family coming in town this weekend, so I definitely won’t be there. I’mm check to see what the plan is for next week!

  3. Inspector Love Says:

I had every intention of making it tomorrow, but I have too much going on… two parties and lunch with a friend.

I will say that I had mixed feelings about the book (i.e. my feelings have changed, but I’m not finished, yet). The narrator finally introduced himself and I feel much better about not liking him. He’s the type of guy I tend to avoid at all costs.

I think that maybe the title is sarcastic and Oscar’s life is anything but wondrous. Although, the references to the mysterious mongoose-like animal fits in the wonderment category… maybe there’s more magical surrealism to come.

We’ll miss you both! I’m behind (the story switched from Oscar to Lola — not sure where it’ll go next), but hope to catch up soon.

Hope to see you both soon, too …
